Scrapbook Ideas for Wedding Anniversary

Wedding Anniversaries are the perfect occasion to get out the scrapbook supplies. Whether you're scrapping your own anniversary or preparing a gift for someone else, wedding anniversaries are filled with mementos and endless choices you can make while creating the perfect keepsake for someone you love.

Color themes play an important part of any wedding anniversary scrapbook and the traditional gifts that accompany each year can be used as a basis for selecting and deciding your theme. For example, a traditional gift for a 2nd wedding anniversary is cotton. This would include fabric, pillows, towels, rugs, etc. So, for this year you could theme your page layout or scrapbook around textures, shapes of various fabric object like pillows, vibrant color patterns found on clothing, or soft, subtle shades reminiscent of billowy cotton.

Another anniversary year such as the fourth would involve selecting color patterns around the traditional gifts of fruit and flowers. In addition to paper selection you can enhance your scrapbook pages with embellishment centering around this theme.

Below is a list of years and their traditional gifts:

1st - paper
2nd - cotton
3rd - leather
4th - fruits or flowers
5th - wood
6th - candy, sugar
7th - wool or copper
8th - bronze or pottery
9th - pottery or willow
10th - tin or aluminum
11th - steel
12th - silk or linen
13th - lace, textiles
14th - ivory
15th - crystal
16th - silver
17th - furniture
18th - ceramic
19th - bronze
20th - china
25th - silver
30th - pearl
35th - coral, jade
40th - ruby
45th - sapphire
50th - gold
60th - diamond
75th - diamond

Wedding photos top the list of important photos when compiling a keepsake for an anniversary. Other photos to include could be honeymoon photos, photos of major events like christenings, graduations, photos with children and grandchildren, family vacations, holidays and birthdays will help mark the years.

Embellishments also add to the lasting memories. Swatches of clothing, buttons, napkins, newspaper clippings, a copy of the wedding invitation and ribbons all can be added to support the theme.

Wedding anniversaries are a remarkable time for many families and creating ever-lasting keepsakes to chronicle the years is a wonderful way to express gratitude and love.
