Regarding the Fast Fill for my many photos from my Dad. Been experimenting and found out this-may have to do my own tutorial!
Unless you want them willy-nilly in the album, you will need to separate them into folders so you can choose each one in order you want it placed in the album.
Then follow the tutorial in the forum to set up the album. Once you choose a the folder of photos and select all and fill the pages you will have the rest of the album blank.
Now is when I think is a good time to get the background in for each section if you are changing papers as I am for the different locations. I chose the option to apply to all the pages. Don’t worry about the notice it cannot be undone.
Now is the time to add a shadow to photos using the Apply to all photos on the page. Otherwise, it adds a shadow to the embellishments too.
Then lock your page under Check Album.
Go to the next blank page; under Insert, choose Fast Fill. Go through the same process of opening the folder for the next group of photos and select all and finish.
If you want a different background paper for this group, choose it and apply to all the album pages. It will be added to all the pages that are not locked.
Then lock the pages with that background that you want to keep.
The program changes all the pages that are not locked but it is true that you cannot choose the Undo feature for that page. You can change the background of any pages by unlocking them and choosing the all page option.
You will have to spend some time with the Crop feature for each photo that does not match the template shape but they can all be adjusted or removed if there are extras.
I realize this is a lot of info you already know but it was neat to experiment with the fast fill. I will be using it a lot in the manner I described because the folder with the photos although alphabetical is not the order I want to have them in the album; I want them displayed in the time line the trip was taken. Once I found I could choose the fast fill while already working inside an album, I knew that was a real time saver.
You can then go back to each page, unlock and adjust and add all you want to.
I love this program already. It’s just too bad my dad’s slides were so deteriorated by the time I scanned them. Some outdoors are really great but the others are dark. Still they are memories I want to preserve. Will post some pages as soon as I get going on the real thing.
Thanks so much to everyone for all your advice and encouragement so far.
